Ride Forever - Gold Course

The Ride Forever Gold course is designed for experienced riders who want to refine their skills, improve their roadcraft and get high-quality feedback from an expert instructor.
Gold is the highest level in the Ride Forever pathway. It is ideal for riders who already have strong basic skills and want to keep improving.

Who is this course for?

The Gold course is suitable for riders who:

• Hold a full motorcycle licence

• Have solid riding experience

• Are confident riding in a range of road conditions

• Have ideally completed Silver or similar training

• Want advanced coaching and feedback

• Want to refine cornering, positioning and roadcraft

• Want to keep improving rather than just “ride the way they always have”

Gold is the pinnacle of Ride Forever coaching for advanced riders - it is aimed at experienced riders who hold a full motorcycle licence.

What you will work on

Gold coaching is more advanced and can be tailored to the riders on the day. Areas of focus may include:

• Advanced road positioning

• Cornering accuracy and confidence

• Vision and planning

• Hazard anticipation

• Smooth braking and acceleration

• Open-road decision-making

• Riding flow

• Line selection

• Managing changing road surfaces

• Improving consistency and confidence

• Reducing bad habits that may have developed over time

Gold is about refinement. It helps experienced riders become more deliberate, more observant and more precise.

Gold gives you the chance to have an experienced instructor observe your riding and help you identify practical improvements.

From 1 July 2026, completing an approved Ride Forever Gold course can also help reduce your motorcycle ownership costs.

ACC is introducing the ACC Rider Reward, which gives eligible riders a 25% discount on their ACC motorcycle levy when they complete a Ride Forever Gold course.
The discount applies to eligible riders for each motorcycle they own and license, provided the course was completed within the required timeframe.

It is another great reason to treat Gold as more than just advanced training — it is a practical way to sharpen your skills, improve your safety, and be recognised by ACC for investing in better riding. 

A great annual refresher

Many experienced riders use Gold as an annual skills refresh. It is a valuable way to reset your focus, sharpen your roadcraft and keep learning.

Ride Forever riders can usually take up to two courses per year, with only one Gold course per year, and courses generally need to be spaced at least three months apart.

Ensure you wear protective motorcycle clothing, top to toe, bring a pen and paper, and money to buy lunch, make sure your machine is warranted, registered and roadworthy, arrive with a full tank.
