Glen Leyston

Glen is a qualified NZTA motorcycle instructor and assessor in Auckland NZ.

He instructs both road and gravel riding courses.

He also runs the ACC Ride Forever Bronze, Silver, and Gold courses, helping riders of all levels enhance their skills and confidence.

In the world of motorcycle adventure training, few names resonate as strongly as Glen Leyston.

A former mechanic whose life took a dramatic turn after a work accident, Glen found a new calling as a motorcycle instructor. His journey from the workshop to the open road is nothing short of inspiring.

His passion for motorcycles began in his teenage years in South Africa, where he developed a love for off-roading. This passion led him to compete in some of the most challenging races in Africa, including the Roof of Africa and the Toyota 1000, where he tackled long-distance desert races up to 1000 km.

Having lived in New Zealand since 2003, Glen has embraced the technical and challenging adventure riding that our country offers. He loves riding dirt bikes and sharing his stories and experiences with others.

His courses are designed for riders of all ages who want to improve their confidence and skills on roads or adventure rides.

Glen's teaching style is easy to understand and instantly applicable, ensuring that riders build their confidence in a friendly and safe environment.

Greg is an experienced motorcycle instructor with a passion for helping riders develop the skills, confidence, and the mindset needed to become safer and more capable.

With 44 years of riding experience, Greg draws from a wealth of practical riding knowledge. His coaching style is approachable, professional, and focused on real-world riding skills that riders can immediately apply to their everyday journeys.


Greg has helped riders of all experience levels, from complete beginners taking their first steps into motorcycling through to experienced riders looking to refine their skills and improve their roadcraft. His ability to explain complex riding techniques in a simple and easy-to-understand way.

Greg believes that learning never stops. His focus is not just on helping riders pass a licence test, but on developing the awareness, judgement, and control that contribute to a lifetime of safe and enjoyable riding.

Whether coaching one-on-one or working with groups, Greg's goal remains the same: to help every rider leave with greater confidence, improved skills, and a genuine enjoyment of motorcycling.

His passion is helping others gain the same enjoyment from riding – safely and with skill.

With a calm and encouraging approach, Kerry ensures every rider gets the guidance they need to succeed. His focus is on helping riders understand not only how to ride but why good habits and awareness make all the difference on the road.
